Health for Animals
Our furry four legged friends love us to bits. The least we can do for them is help create the happiest, healthiest life possible.
“Anything feels possible with the unconditional love of an animal.”
Our animals bring us so much joy, laughter, unconditional love, loyalty and compassion so it feels a privilege to be able to give them the best food and natural medicine to support their well being and of course, lots a love.
Kate has used Homeopathy and herbs to help her four legged friends through many of life’s dramas with amazing success. From conjunctivitis to kennel cough, gastro to more serious issues with a snake bite and paralysis tick. These experiences have cemented the wonderful power Homeopathy has to help the body heal itself.
Kate was incredibly lucky to train with Australia’s leading animal homeopath, Diana Kopatsy, in canine and feline homeopathic methods. This knowledge and personal experience, Kate uses daily to help animals heal.
Dogs and Cats
“Not all treasures glitter, some come with muddy paws, feather flutters, or sleepy purrs.”
Puppies and Kittens are usually between 8-12 weeks when they come in to our lives. They are full of energy, fun and sharp teeth. Just like human babies, their digestive and immune systems are still developing, so they are more susceptible to particular diseases or conditions. For most diseases, there is the option of Homeoprophylaxis, or Homeopathic Immunisations. These have been found to be extremely effective and can be used for tiny puppies and kittens, through to adult dogs and cats.
Homeopathy can support the body to heal itself from most of life’s little dramas. There is a lovely Kit for animals so their little bodies can be brought back in to balance in a vital healthy state. Homeopathy has been used for puppies and kittens in cases such as:
- Vomiting and diarrhoea
- Constipation
- Conjunctivitis
- Accidents
- Skin infections
- Itchy ears
- Paw licking
- Bites and stings
- Burns
- And so much more….
If you need help choosing the right remedy there is an acute consultation so you can be guided to the best remedy for your animal’s situation.
For more chronic issues such as
- Allergies
- Urinary tract infections
- Chronic skin issues
- Back or Joint pain
- Dementia in older animals
- Digestive issues
Other issues that have been around longer than a couple of weeks.
Detoxing is another method of helping support the body to heal. This I have done with environmental toxins such as heavy metals, mould, medications, vaccinations and even viruses or white tail spider bites. So much is possible with Homeopathy and Herbal Medicine for our beautiful animals so they can live their happiest healthiest life.
Just as humans experience emotional issues, so do our beloved animals. They experience grief, sadness, depression, anxiety, overwhelm which can be a part of their personality or due to an incident that happened in their life. Whatever the cause, Homeopathy is a lovely gentle way of bringing their mind and soul back in to balance.
Nutrition For Dogs and Cats
Food is medicine for animals just as much as it is for humans. What your animal eats is intimately connected to their health, so the good news is that many health issues can be addressed simply by changing their food. Think about how animals would have eaten before they came to live with us in our homes. They ate raw food, pre digested food of the animal they fed on. This means their diet consisted of fruit, vegetable, nuts and seeds and some grains along with meat. This food would have all been human grade food. The label ‘Pet Food’ is often a license to add all kinds of extras that require no labelling. So simply changing to a diet of raw, human grade food can resolve so many issues. Human grade, preferably organic food is giving your animal the best chance for a happy, healthy life.
As a Naturopath and Homeopath, there are many foods we can add or remove from the current diet to help with some allergies, digestive issues and behaviour. Your dog may be intolerant to some foods so we can do a test for this which will fast track discovering exactly what it is that may be causing the issue.
Another test we can do is HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis). This shows any issues with heavy metals or mineral imbalances that may be present.
